Comedy for Peace (est. March 2019) is a project that aims to unite Jewish, Muslim, Christian, and all faith communities through humor and mutual understanding. Our project brings together the best Muslim, Jewish, and Christian stand-up comedians for an inspiring, funny and unforgettable evening.
The project was founded by comedian/producer Dotan Malach, who understood that although the political situation isn't easily fixable - on a personal level we're all human beings who want to work and live together, peacefully. The primary goal of Comedy for Peace is to show people of all communities that we can, very easily, collaborate, and stand on one stage together while having fun and laughing at ourselves and each other, without any politics involved.
Our show is a relief from the concerns of the day, with an important message that we, the people, just want to live together peacefully. We refuse to be enemies!
Following every show, the performing comedians meet together on stage for a meaningful Q&A session with the audience, answering any questions that arise and sharing their experiences.
Over the past seven years Comedy for Peace has performed hundreds of shows all over the US and parts of Canada, and helped raise thousands of dollars for charity. We were honored to be chosen to perform as part of the New York City Comedy Festival three years in a row, and we keep traveling with great enthusiasm, bringing hope and comic relief to many communities.
Comedy for Peace is not a political show. Just in case you were wondering.
